Shortstop JaCoby Jones, the Pirates' No. 12 prospect, hit two home runs in the first game of a doubleheader Wednesday, leading Class A West Virginia to a win over Augusta, 5-3. The Power also won the nightcap by the same score.
Jones' home runs drove in the final three runs of the first game for the Power and his two-run blast in the seventh inning gave them a walk-off victory. He finished the game 2-for-4 with two runs and three RBIs.
In the nightcap, Jones went 0-for-2 with a walk and a run. Center fielder Austin Meadows, the Pirates' No. 4 prospect, added a hit and a walk.
Jones, the Pirates' third-round pick in the 2013 First-Year Player Draft, is hitting .289/.352/.494 with 20 home runs and 17 stolen bases in 110 games in his first full professional season. He ranks second in the South Atlantic League in home runs and fifth in slugging percentage.
