PITTSBURGH -- Outfielder Gregory Polanco, the Pirates' top prospect, will be recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday after the team placed second baseman Neil Walker, who underwent an appendectomy on Monday night, on the 15-day disabled list.

Polanco, who had played in 62 of Indianapolis' first 63 games, was not in the lineup for Monday night's game at Lehigh-Valley.

Walker was scratched from the Bucs' Monday night lineup against the Cubs due to abdominal pain.

Josh Harrison, originally slated to play right field, moved in to start at second base.

With Walker on the DL, Harrison, who has become a force and will not likely be removed from the lineup, could take over at second and the Pirates would need a new right fielder.

Travis Snider started in right field Monday night.
