The Pirates signed catcher Omir Santos to a Minor League deal on Friday with an invitation to Spring Training.

Santos, 32, spent last season in the Indians organization at Triple-A Columbus, where he hit .248 with three home runs and 23 RBIs in 61 games. He also appeared in one game for Cleveland on April 9, going hitless in his lone at-bat.

Santos has a .248 career average with 14 doubles and seven home runs in 122 games with the Orioles, Mets, Tigers and Indians.

The Pirates have invited 17 non-roster players to Major League Spring Training.
