BRADENTON, Fla. -- Nate McLouth checked into camp -- tanned, ripped, ready to go -- and was promptly welcomed to the club.

To the Pirates? No -- although they are certainly thrilled to have him back from his 2 1/2-season detour to Atlanta.

The outfielder received an immediate initiation into the Mac Pack.

Already in Pirate City in addition to McLouth are Daniel McCutchen, James McDonald, Kyle McPherson, Michael McKenry and Casey McGehee. When the full squad reports on Friday, Andrew McCutchen will bring the Mc-population to seven.

"Is that right?" McLouth said with a grin when given the Mc-census by a club official.

He then tried to name them all, but fell a couple of McNames short.

Prior to his mid-2008 trade to the Braves, McLouth had been the only Mac on the Bucs. No question, Pirates fans will be loving it.
