Pirates first MLB team to implement Activator platform

The Pittsburgh Pirates today formally announced their adoption of Activator, an online platform created by Turnkey Sports & Entertainment to unite properties with their marketing partners and enable real-time tracking and recapping of contract elements, initiatives, and deliverables.

“To say it’s important to our club to service our corporate partners at an elite level would be an understatement,” said Lou DePaoli, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of the Pirates. “We’re extremely committed to staying ahead of the curve and providing cutting-edge tools that add value for our partners and make it easy for us to collaborate and communicate as a true team. Activator is a perfect fit within the service structure we’ve put in place over time.”

Designed specifically for managing marketing partnerships, Activator will enable the Pirates and their sponsors to work together in the cloud to execute deal points, recap and share proof of performance, and communicate in a collaborative setting in real time.

“The Pirates are innovators, pure and simple,” said Len Perna, President & CEO of Turnkey Sports & Entertainment. “They see the value of a system like Activator, which enables partners to stay connected 24/7. In today’s digital world, that level of engagement is critical, and the Pirates recognize that.”

The Pirates join top sports and entertainment brands including AEG, the Chicago Bears, Comcast-Spectacor/XFINITY Live!, Earnhardt Ganassi Racing, International Speedway Corporation (ISC), Major League Soccer (MLS), MetLife Stadium, Minor League Baseball (MiLB), NASCAR, the Phoenix Suns, the San Francisco 49ers, the Seattle Seahawks, Speedway Motorsports Inc. (SMI), and the United States Tennis Association (USTA) on the Activator platform.
