Left-hander Tom Gorzelanny made his second start, and fourth appearance, of the spring and allowed two runs on five hits in four innings worked.
Rays on the mound:
James Shields allowed two runs on eight hits during a five-inning stint in which he struck out four and did not issue a walk. Bullpen hopefuls Dan Miceli, Al Reyes and Jeff Ridgway each pitched a scoreless inning.

The Rays will host the Indians Saturday afternoon in a 1:05 p.m. ET contest at Progress Energy Park. Casey Fossum will make his second start of the spring after having a successful one-inning stint Monday against the Tigers; the left-hander is coming back from shoulder surgery. Tim Corcoran will follow Fossum and the right-hander hopes to further his case for becoming the team's No. 5 starter. Right-hander Brian Stokes is also scheduled to pitch for the Rays. Right-hander Fausto Carmona will start for the Indians. The Pirates will host the Twins in a 1:05 p.m. ET contest in Bradenton. Right-hander Tony Armas Jr. is expected to start for the Pirates against Twins right-hander Boof Bonser.
